Get to know Greasby Opticians
Greasby Opticians, previously LM Daly Opticians is an independent opticians which continues to offer excellent quality eyecare and an extensive range of spectacle frames and contact lenses. Mrs. Lynn Daly served the community of Greasby, testing eyes for 27 years. Dr. Helena Workman took over the reins of the business in April 2016 and is supported by optometrists Leila Buzzard and Hannah Thompson. Many of our patients have been attending since their childhood and now bring their own children. We pride ourselves in providing a warm and comfortable environment where patients can feel at ease. We are confident that patients will be delighted at the personal service that we provide at Greasby Opticians.

Optometrist Owner
Dr. Helena Workman
I was brought up on the Wirral and left here to study optometry at Aston University in Birmingham in 1994. I qualified as an optometrist in 1998 and continued to live in Birmingham where I was involved in both high street and hospital optometry. In 2002 I began my PhD in Optometry and I had the opportunity to teach undergraduate students and work alongside local ophthalmologists. I returned to the Wirral in 2009 to be closer to my family and now live locally with my husband and 3 children.

Sharon Bland
I was born on the Wirral and love living here on our beautiful peninsula. I am married with two sons. I’ve worked in optics for over 20 years and it has been great to be a part of the Greasby Opticians team since 2020. I love helping patients choose their new glasses, particularly enjoy working with children and enjoy finding lens and spectacles solutions for challenging cases.

Heather Farrell
I have been an optical assistant for 17 months after a complete career change. I really enjoy it and find it very rewarding. I live in Greasby with my family and love working with our local community. I really enjoy dispensing and helping patients feel confident with their new specs. It is really rewarding to see them happy with the end result. I like to spend my spare time shopping, or having nice days out with my family, preferably with a nice meal out too!

I have been involved in optics for just over three years after taking a huge change in career after being a musician since leaving school, but I have found it to be super rewarding and it's great to continue learning all things optics and glasses, no day is ever the same. I have two amazing children, and hobbies include gigs, walking, playing guitar and the gym.

​I have worked as an Optical Assistant for 17years and joined Greasby Opticians in 2023. I live locally and enjoy spending time with my family. In my spare time you will find me creating something, usually handmade cards or macrame wall hangings.

Leila Buzzard
I have lived in Wirral all my life and have been working in optics for 28 years. I qualified as an optometrist from UMIST, Manchester in 2000 and joined the team at Greasby Opticians in 2022 from a large multiple. I am really enjoying working in a true independent community Opticians where patients are the priority.
